Wake up to the sound of crashing waves and step out onto your private balcony at the Ocean Club Hotel, where every room (from $419) faces the beach. Might as well start the day with a breezy cocktail at the poolside tiki bar, and then maybe go for a dip in the surf right across the street. Toweled off and ready to explore, consider renting a bicycle, as two wheels are better than four when it comes to touring and photographing stately Victorians. Cycle over to The Lobster House for more cocktails on a ship docked outside the restaurant. Back in town, the Washington Street Mall is a three-block strip of souvenir, antique, novelty and ice cream shops. Since you’d be remiss not to try the local scallops and oysters, head back to the Ocean Club Hotel and its SeaSalt Restaurant, where Chef Lulzim “Lou” Rexhepi does them right — that is, with a minimum of human interference.

"Yesterday on "Morning Living," Chef Lou Rexhepi of Cape May, New Jersey's SeaSalt Restaurant at the Ocean Club Hotel joined us in the studio. With vast experience in giving a dish a taste of Asian flair, Chef Rexhepi shared a casual miniature brunch of seared coriander crusted tuna, and braised lamb with mashed potatoes. The tuna dish surprised us with a sweet citrus chili sauce with an extra kick! Here are two recipes that can easily be converted into bite-size treats for company."

Adam Erace writes that “the real star of the evening” at Cape May’s new Sea Salt was the skate Milanese. The “pretty perfect plate of food” was “probably the best preparation” of the dish he’s ever had.
[Excerpt] For evidence, I had to look no further than his buffalo shrimp salad ($11), a cast of teeny sauteed-and-Buffalo sauced crustaceans falling overboard a crosscut raft of cool iceberg lettuce.
