Each year brings the renovation of favorite venues and new options for brides in New Jersey. Here are three choices for your wedding:
The Ocean Club Hotel: A tiki bar. An oceanfront view. A pristine blue swimming pool with private cabanas. Luscious tropical drinks. In Cape May. That’s right…in Cape May, the charming New Jersey seaside town peppered with quaint Victorian bed and breakfasts. This refurbished and award-winning boutique hotel right on Beach Avenue’s prime oceanfront real estate gives you the feel of having traveled to the tropics, but you’ve only just driven down the Parkway.

The Daily: The other Jersey shore - Here's your two-day trip planner to this unexpected East Coast gem
July 14, 2012
By: Justin Silverman
Wake up to the sound of crashing waves and step out onto your private balcony at the Ocean Club Hotel, where every room (from $419) faces the beach. Might as well start the day with a breezy cocktail at the poolside tiki bar, and then maybe go for a dip in the surf right across the street. Toweled off and ready to explore, consider renting a bicycle, as two wheels are better than four when it comes to touring and photographing stately Victorians. Cycle over to The Lobster House for more cocktails on a ship docked outside the restaurant. Back in town, the Washington Street Mall is a three-block strip of souvenir, antique, novelty and ice cream shops. Since you’d be remiss not to try the local scallops and oysters, head back to the Ocean Club Hotel and its SeaSalt Restaurant, where Chef Lulzim “Lou” Rexhepi does them right — that is, with a minimum of human interference.

"Yesterday on "Morning Living," Chef Lou Rexhepi of Cape May, New Jersey's SeaSalt Restaurant at the Ocean Club Hotel joined us in the studio. With vast experience in giving a dish a taste of Asian flair, Chef Rexhepi shared a casual miniature brunch of seared coriander crusted tuna, and braised lamb with mashed potatoes. The tuna dish surprised us with a sweet citrus chili sauce with an extra kick! Here are two recipes that can easily be converted into bite-size treats for company."

You’ll be relaxing in heaven at the Ocean Club’s beautiful pool, with its great views, sun beds, cabanas and poolside bar. The boutique hotel just finished a major renovation, so you'll love your room, too. (Stay on the Penthouse Floor ― it’s cool, private and no one under 16 is allowed to stay on that floor.) See you there.
Sizzling Summer Shore Guide 2012
May 18, 2012
Cape May. Talk about extreme makeovers. The former Atlas Inn on the beachfront in Cape May underwent such an extensive, multimillion-dollar renovation over the last two years that it wasn't completely finished in time for the start of the summer season last year. But the hip Ocean Club Hotel and its chic Sea Salt Restaurant are certainly ready for prime time this year. Culinary Institute of America-trained chef Lulzim Rexhepi specializes in pairing indigenous ingredients with specialty cocktails and wines.
Upscale Newcomers Bring Inspiringly Fresh Appeal To Cape May. New Jersey's Southernmost Resort
May 16, 2012
Cape May has stopped clutching its Victorian pearl choker, shaken off its corset and realized that not everything here must drip fussy tassels and gingerbread ornamentation for the town to survive and thrive as a tourist destination.
“It’s a good moment for Cape May,” says Jack Wright. “It’s quaint without being dull.” Wright, the editor and publisher of local newsweekly Exit Zero, settles into a deep-cushioned couch in the Brown Room, a watering hole with walls the color of milk chocolate and an aesthetic that Gatsby would appreciate. Wright moved from Manhattan to Cape May in 2002. “It felt kind of sexy,” he says. “It had an amazing vibe of a classic American seaside town.” [Continue Reading]

South Jersey SaveWeddingDay.com

The beaches are expansive and the mood is generally romantic in the southern most shore town of NJ. Adorning these beaches, multitudes of old world accommodations possess southern and historic charm. To my excitement, I am pleased to share that these southern beaches can boast a breath of fresh air as a facility that includes fresh and modern style is now nestled amidst Cape May's sand ridden shores.
Completely overhauled and elegantly designed with plenty of outdoor space, The Ocean Club Hotel (the OC for short) is a new gem among the accommodations and wedding venues in Cape May. A large second floor deck adorned with sweeping views of the Atlantic hosts a wedding venue that is second to none. With the ability to customize the space to meet your decorative wishes, this area is available for any combination of your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception. [Continue Reading]

Courier Post Restaurant Review of SeaSalt Restaurant
Written by: ADAM ERACE
Adam Erace writes that “the real star of the evening” at Cape May’s new Sea Salt was the skate Milanese. The “pretty perfect plate of food” was “probably the best preparation” of the dish he’s ever had.
[Excerpt] For evidence, I had to look no further than his buffalo shrimp salad ($11), a cast of teeny sauteed-and-Buffalo sauced crustaceans falling overboard a crosscut raft of cool iceberg lettuce. [...] he's getting reacquainted with the town's terroir, finding farmers for his heirloom tomatoes (so gorgeous in a dazzling, unorthodox gazpacho, $7, made without bread or almonds) and silver corn (scattered with Stilton over the Buffalo rock shrimp)...
